SCIENCE! Grinder Tech!

Hey guys! Your Nerdcore main man here with some new vocabulary for you! Have you ever heard the term Grinder? Before today me neither. Well I have come to find out that it is a term describing a certain people who life hack human bodies augmenting them with tech implants. Sounds futuristic and cool? Yeah it fucking does! Anyhoo this guy got tired of headphones and earbud wires getting in the way and getting all broken and stuff SO what does he decide to do? He gets a small magnet implanted in the Tragus. (That little stiff  thing in in front of your ear.) It receives audio signals via magnetic field that is produced by a coil hanging around his neck. Although the audio quality isn’t all that great it is a first step in new tech for this which I think is pretty cool and definitely should be watched for the audiophile.

I just saw this advertisement of Matt Smith’s (Doctor Who) college advertisement. The awesomeness is uncountable.

SCIENCE! DOCTOR WHO!

Sometimes I wonder in the unlimited parallel universes alongside ours if there really is a Doctor. Well for SCIENCE! is just narrowing my opinion of that down to definitely in one of these. Using the Kepler Telescope, NASA has found a transiting circumbinary multi-planet system. Two worlds orbiting two stars. Which is the exact description of Gallifrey, The Doctor’s home planet. It is also akin to the luxury-planet-builders’ planet Magrathea from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Though officially named: Kepler 47 (five values off from the answer to everything), you and I both know what every scientist and astronomer is calling it.

NEWS! To Infinity and BEYOND!

This could very well be N.A.S.A.’s new slogan. Their new space suit prototype Z-1 and Portable Life Support system 2.0 look akin to Disney/Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story 1,2 and 3. As of late this design wouldn’t be the only Disney/NASA cross over. They are designing an “Educational Experience” centered around the flight of Buzz, that will hopefully get children and young adults interested in space exploration, science and technology. Personally I think this is really neat. The Space Suit is domed with white base with a neon green trim. With this all I can say to NASA is: TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

Videos! Epic Rap Battles of History!

So I’ve been watching the Epic Rap Battles of History for a long time now and nothing has come up more nerdy then this. If your not familliar with ERB then it is a bunch of guys who get together, take suggestions from fans and have them rap against eachother. Gandalf VS Dumbledore was pretty good too.  Honestly it could have been a wee bit better but honestly I love it. So here it is then go to the page to subscribe. ERB FTW!

 

SCIENCE! Aliens on Mars!

I know what you guys might be thinking but no you are absolutely incorrect sir. I stumbled upon a article that may prove that there could be alien lifeforms on mars. The zinger about it is…..we put them there. A mistake made at N.A.S.A. about putting on the drill of the Mars Rover Curiosity, could have broken containment and let hundreds of thousands microbial stowaways on board. If the Rover finds water, there is no guarantee that if it finds some form of bacterial life, it could be martian or earthling in nature. SCIENCE! New Exo-Planet Found!

Deep within the constellation of Leo, there lies a home of a dim burning Red Dwarf star. You have been on the tail of this star for weeks, months. You keep your eye on the large planet revolving around our little crimson friend. Yet your readings have been giving you some spurious signals that just doesn’t make sense..unless…

You my good sir or madam have discovered a new planet. You check your data, see the dim and have found a planet just two-thirds the size of Earth whipping around this star in what you have calculated to be just 1.4 Earth days. From what you can deduce it is fairly close to the star so you could surmise that it will be hot with molten lava flows and if it had an atmosphere it is more then likely long gone. 

The biggest part about the article is probably overlooked. The fact that they found a sub-earth sized planet rolling around in the universe will push our scientists and our technology to find these earth and below size planets. At the moment with our tech level these planets are extremely hard to find. With me being a space geek I thought this was amazing. Enough with that now. I know I’m a  few hours early for the 4th of July but I wanted to crank this out early since I love you guys. I went off to my LCS today in search of something patriotic. Something inspiring. Something worth reading. Something that’s not Captain America. Sorry Cap but in my book he is a bit over played. 

Carnage USA starts out at a nice quaint and quiet town. Then… Cletus Kassady happens. In Carnage USA it is in Carnage’s master plan to turn everything and everyone into an extension of himself. Women, Children, Babies! All Carnage. It is absolutely amazing. As far as I have gotten the book is awesome. Sadly my LCS didn’t have the last three issues so a Full review is pending. On the other end of that this story so far is absolutely awesome. In the first couple of pages he takes over a town, takes over The Avengers (Carnage Wolverine and Carnage The Thing is flippin insane!) So it is total carnage and action from the get go with no sign of slowing down. Not to mention the unique artstyle that I have honestly fallen in love with. It seems to be some form of  digital paint and airbrush but I could be wrong. Either way this comic is an absolute must for any fan of Spiderman or the symbiotes.  Also a guest appearance of Toxin my second fave right after Venom! Who could not want this?!

Now that we have that out of the way I would like to take a minute of your time to remind you of the sacrifices of the men and women of this great Nerdcore Nation and what it has given us and protected. Since the Revolution the American Soldier has given his life, limbs, blood, sweat and tears to make sure we are free and protected. Not to mention to fight injustice all over the world.
